The American standard Y-type filter is a small device used to remove solids from liquids. It can protect compressors, pumps, and other equipment and instruments from normal operation and maintenance, achieving stable process and ensuring safety. In addition, it also has significant importance in improving product quality. Y-shaped filters are suitable for media such as steam, air, kerosene, water, weakly corrosive gases, and liquids.
The characteristics of the American standard Y-type filter include:
-Import and export diameter: In principle, it should not be smaller than the inlet diameter of the matching pump, generally consistent with the diameter of the inlet pipeline.
-Nominal pressure: Determine the pressure rating of the filter based on the maximum pressure that may occur in the filtering pipeline.
-The selection of pore size: mainly considers the particle size of impurities that need to be intercepted, and is determined according to the process requirements of the medium flow.
-Filter material: Generally, the same material as the connected process pipeline is selected, and cast iron, carbon steel, low-alloy steel, or stainless steel materials can be considered.
In terms of maintenance, the core part of the filter is the filter core, which is composed of a filter frame and stainless steel wire mesh. It is a vulnerable part and requires special protection. After working for a period of time, impurities may settle inside the filter core, causing an increase in pressure drop and a decrease in flow rate. It is necessary to promptly remove the impurities inside the filter core. When cleaning, be careful not to deform or damage the stainless steel wire mesh on the filter element, otherwise it will affect the purity of the filtered medium and may damage equipment such as compressors, pumps, and instruments. If the stainless steel wire mesh is found to be deformed or damaged, it should be replaced immediately.
